BCLC launches lottery ticket pilot program
British Columbia gamers now have more venues in which to play their lucky numbers, but only for a limited time. This month, the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) rolled out a pilot project to determine the effectiveness of selling lottery tickets in BC Liquor Stores.
“So far, it is going well – it just began,” reported Kim Steinbart with the BCLC, adding, “It is a pilot project and will run for four to eight weeks in five stores altogether.”
BCLC has stated it will consider expanding across multiple liquor store branches if the project proves successful. At time of print, Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max quick-pick tickets have been set up for purchase at the Commercial Drive and Broadway and Lillooet outlets.
"If the liquor stores are happy with the program, we will then look at expanding to other stores," said Steinbart.
